Side Wage
Independent notes on published research about platform work and online side income
Side Wage keeps stamped records of studies on task platforms, ride-hail labour markets, and measures of online labour demand — with each study's design and stated limits kept beside the reported figure.
Public discussion of online monetization often collapses different kinds of work into one story. Crowdsourced microtasks, ride-hail shifts, and vacancy postings on remote labour platforms are not the same labour market, and the papers that measure them do not claim that they are.
Where a study reports a median rather than a mean, or a utilization rate rather than take-home pay, that distinction is written into the note. Where the authors name populations their result is not meant to cover, that list is reproduced.
